About Landscape and Wildlife Photographer Kasey Mantiply

“You don’t make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.”
― Ansel Adams

My home stomping grounds is the incredible West coast of the United States. I’m lucky to call the beautiful state of California my home, but my heart is in the arctic. I fell in love with the harsh icy landscape and the incredible animals that inhabit it many years ago and find myself returning time and time again.

I have been a professional photographer for over 5 years now and have been privileged to shoot all over the world. I love photographing wildlife for the same reason I love shooting the remote, hard to get to places - the challenge to capture not just the outlines, but that sense of magic that animals and places keep hidden within.

Early trips backpacking in the California wilderness sparked an immense passion for being in wild places and for documenting hidden secrets most people never see. I had the opportunity to shoot with National Geographic while still in high school, enabling me to shoot internationally for the first time and eventually to start my passion project - exploring and documenting the arctic. I want my photos to capture the beauty of our fragile planet and promote conservation of the earth.
